New Product Launch: Leading a New Wave of Innovation in Heavy-Duty Trucks
Amid great anticipation and accompanied by the debut of a powerful new vehicle promotional film, Chery Commercial Vehicles' “Phoenix Series” heavy-duty truck made its global premiere. Zhu Hong, Deputy General Manager of Chery Commercial Vehicles and General Manager of C&C Trucks, provided an in-depth explanation of the product’s core value: developed based on over 5,000 user scenario studies and the concept of co-creation with users, the vehicle redefines new standards for medium- and long-haul logistics through innovative lightweight design, industry-leading energy efficiency, intelligent vehicle connectivity systems, and comprehensive safety protection.
Four Flagship Models were Launched:
Yuan Phoenix (Diesel Tractor): Tailored for trunk logistics in the Yangtze River Delta, this model features a Cummins 13L diesel engine (600 hp) paired with an Eaton Cummins AMT transmission. Its 800L dual-chamber heated fuel tanks deliver a range of 2,600 km.
Jin Phoenix (Natural Gas Tractor): Designed for long-haul operations across northern and southern China, it features Cummins’ latest 15N FE high-output gas engine (630 hp) and Eaton Cummins AMT transmission (99.8% transmission efficiency). It offers outstanding fuel economy, high-end configuration, and driver comfort.
Yun Phoenix (Extended Range Electric): Combines a 400 kWh battery, a range extender, and a 300L fuel tank for a single-charge range of up to 1,400 km. Intelligent control optimizes cost-efficiency by prioritizing fast-charging electricity over fuel.
Dian Phoenix (Battery Electric): Developed in collaboration with Huayong, this pure electric heavy truck features a next-generation integrated chassis, a 600 kWh deep-cycle battery, and a low center of gravity for stable driving. Equipped with second-gen high-efficiency e-axles and air suspension (2 airbags in the front, 8 in the rear), it delivers sedan-level ride comfort—ideal for high-frequency short-haul operations.
Notably, all 100 pre-order units of the gas-powered Phoenix Series sold out quickly following the pre-sale launch on May 28. As a gesture of appreciation, Zhu Hong announced an additional release of 100 promotional units, each bundled with a free passenger car.
Zhou Hao, Director of the Wuhu Development and Reform Commission, together with Xu Hui, Vice President of Chery Holding Group Co., Ltd., jointly handed over the first Phoenix Series heavy-duty truck to the customer, vividly embodying Chery Commercial Vehicles’ user-centric business philosophy and brand commitment.
Strategic Cooperation: Forging New Growth Blueprints
Following the deep brand-user engagement marked by the delivery of the first vehicle, the event reached another highlight: Chery Commercial Vehicles and Cummins signed a strategic agreement. Both parties will fully leverage their respective strengths in technology and resources to form a powerful alliance, jointly driving the industry’s green transformation and technological upgrading. Cummins’ powertrain technologies characterized by high efficiency, low-carbon diversity, and intelligent control align closely with Chery Commercial Vehicles’ technological philosophy. This cooperation opens broader development opportunities for both sides and sets a model of win-win collaboration for the industry.
Chery Commercial Vehicles also signed multiple partnership agreements with key strategic clients, reaffirming its commitment to open collaboration, ecosystem integration, and shared market development.
